WHY ?
We will ensure mum and babies are all health checked by our vets.
We will desex, microchip and vaccinate mum cat FREE for you once mum has weaned her kittens.
Once the kittens are weaned and in our foster care program, we will desex, microchip and vaccinate them before they are safely rehomed.
LETS STOP THE BREEDING CYCLE!
**Program participation is limited to availability of foster carers**

DEVELOPMENT STAGE
Thank you Victoria State Government.
Expanding our services to offer affordable vet care to families of large & giant-breed dogs. These large breeds require more space, specialised handling & often longer recovery times after surgery.

PLANNING STAGE
Thank you Victoria State Government.
We strongly believe companion animals are central to the wellbeing of most people in retirement. These animals provide emotional support, reduce loneliness and encourage daily routines.
Pets in Retirement delivers essential veterinary care, both accessible and affordable into 'Retirement Communities' throughout Victoria, ensuring much loved animals remain healthy for a very long time.
By removing barriers such as limitations to transport, reduced mobility and financial
constraints, we aim to:
- Improve the health and welfare of companion animals.
- Strengthen the wellbeing, independence
and quality of life of their owners.

EARLY PLANNING STAGE
Thank you Victoria State Government.
The establishment of our outreach program will aim to reach disadvantaged neighbourhoods and isolated rural areas.
Deliberately as designed to reach companion animals owned by people who are financially, socially or geographically disadvantaged throughout Victoria.
Our primary focus is on communities experiencing high socioeconomic disadvantage, and isolation.

PLANNING STAGE
Nuts About Desexing is a low cost mobile desexing service with a particular
focus on vulnerable families, disadvantaged communities and isolated rural areas, where access to affordable veterinary care is often limited or nonexistent. This program offers a practical, community centred approach to keeping people and their pets healthy, safe and
together, while placing a strong emphasis on responsible animal population control.

An idea which needs funding:
Desexing farm cats FREE to stop the breeding cycle.

COMPLETED:
Thank you Victoria State Government.
Desex 200 Cats FREE for vulnerable and disadvantaged Victorians.
We were able to complete the desexing of 200 cats at our clinic. All cats were given a complimentary Vaccination and Microchip if needed. Our Veterinary staff were very excited to participate in such a great project. Individuals and families who qualified to have their cat desexed through 'Project Catalyst' were very grateful. 1 cat is responsible for the birth of 12 cats in 1 year... this means, 'Project Catalyst' achieved preventing the birth of 2,400 cats in 1 year and the birth of a staggering 414,502,800 (over four hundred and fourteen million) cats over an 8 year period. This is a great achievement. The greatest highlight of this project was calculating the disastrous outcome that could be if 200 undesexed cats continued breeding.

COMPLETED:
Thank you Victoria State Government.
Purchase of new hospital grade recovery cages for surgery. Overall, the addition of the new recovery cages has proven to be a vital investment for our clinic. They offer a comfortable space for animals, enhance our ability to enforce infection control, and mitigate risks associated with high-volume rescue operations. As we continue our mission to provide quality care for rescue animals, these recovery cages will remain an integral part of our operations for many years to come.

Calling All Animal Lovers: We Need Your Help
As passionate advocates for animal welfare we know just how vital foster carers are to our mission. Fostering doesn't just provide a temporary home; it offers hope and a second chance to those who need it most 🐾
In our community, many cats are in dire situations. Unfortunately, when these precious feline souls find their way to pounds, they often face an unimaginable fate. With limited space, shelters can only hold them for a few days before they are euthanized. This heartbreaking reality means that if they're not placed in loving foster homes, their lives are at risk 💔
Rescue groups, including ours Give a Kitty a Home do everything possible to save these cats from death row and a life on the streets, but we simply cannot do it without dedicated foster carers.
By opening your heart and home, you become a true lifesaver! Every warm bed, every meal, and every moment of love gives these cats a fighting chance for a brighter future.
👉 Join us today! Together, we can change lives. If you've ever considered fostering, now is the time to take that leap. Whether it’s for just a few weeks or a few months, your commitment can mean everything to an animal in need.
